A smile that heals: clown therapy at the NEMO centre
In 2024, the Foundation supported clown therapy at the Child Neuropsychiatry department (NEMO centre) of the Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
Thanks to this contribution, the Andrea Tudisco Association will also be able to guarantee the presence of its clown doctors in this ward, bringing a smile to the young patients and supporting their treatment.
Clown therapy is an effective way of supporting treatment, noticeably improving the atmosphere in which treatment is carried out, stimulating the immune system and supporting medical interventions and hospital staff.
The Fondazione Candido Speroni e Carla Fendi Speroni, in addition to promoting and supporting artistic events, offers its support to the initiative in continuity with the values of the founders, Candido Speroni and Carla Fendi Speroni, who have always been sensitive to the issue of supporting children.
The Andrea Tudisco Association works to protect the right to health of
children who, unable to be cared for in the facilities of their town of residence, need to be treated in the specialised wards of Roman hospitals.
The association offers free hospitality and support to seriously ill children and their families, allowing the child to “live and fight” illness and discomfort through the welcome and love of a family and community. It also provides the clown therapy service, with specially trained volunteers and professionals, at the paediatric and specialised wards of the main Roman hospitals.
